How do you fall out of love with someone (apologies if a bit long) please read?

Theres this guy that i've known since 7th grade (let's just call him Dylan).I'm in 11th grade now.And slowly i started to develop feelings for him .And i just wouldn't beleive i had fallen in love with someone that easily.Time went by and we got closer but we never went out, if it didn't work out our friendship would have been destroyed.And it would have made things between us awkward,plus i was afraid of rejection.


But as time went by,there was an incident and he totally betrayed my trust as a friend.He didn't fool around with someone else,nothing like that.But he told a secret to someone that he shouldn't have .It caused alot of drama ,i think he was trying to make me jealous,but i felt really disgusted and betrayed.After that i told him straight to his face that i did not care about him anymore and his corpse could erode away in hell for all eternity for all i care.{yeah i know,kinda harsh}





We don't walk anymore.





The thing is,i still have feelings for him,although not as strong, they are still there.And i have noticed that i really haven't been that much into guys since the incident.And i don't have a bf or have a guy that i really really like.And i think it's because of ';Dylan';.I want to move on.I want to find another guy whom i fall in love with,i know i am over him,but something keeps trying to hold onto that bastard.So as Obama says ';it's time for a change'; so....how do you properly fall out of love with someone? and please don't say the answer is time...it's been 4 years,how much TIME is it going to take?!

It's been 4 years and you arent over him because you are choosing not to be over him. If you are looking for some magic bullet, it doesnt exist. Join the rest of us who still remember someone, but are getting on with our lives.





Also, I am not suggesting the following as a joke, I am serious: You need to sleep with someone else, even a one night stand (w/protection of course). Otherwise if you keep pining away for ';D'; you are closing yourself off from someone that really wants to be with you. He was the one that told a secret that betrayed you and caused drama, remember? ... is this NOW ok with you, and is this the guy you really want to end up with, really? You deserve better. It may take four years or four days....All I would think is that they have wrong done me and i`m not going to accept it...that alone should be enough.....for now,have fun,enjoy your freedom and think of how well off you are without the BS....I do...
